Eleven al-Qaeda suspects killed in fighting with Yemeni troops

Sana'a, Yemen - At least 11 suspected al-Qaeda members were killed in fierce clashes with security forces in Yemen on Sunday, while airstrikes on two alleged al-Qaeda facilities also killed one civilian and wounded two others, security and tribal sources said.
A security source told the German Press Agency dpa that the clashes, which flared up between al-Qaeda members and security forces backed by military units in the Moudia and Loudar districts of the southern Abyan province, killed 11 members of the group.
The source, who asked not to be named, said seven policemen were also injured in the fighting.
Tribal sources, meanwhile, said that Yemeni Air Force jets had bombed a house in the Moudia district and an alleged al-Qaeda training camp in the Loudar district, both in mountain ranges.
A man was killed and two women injured in the first attack, which targeted al-Qaeda operative Abdul-Mounem Fatahan. His fate was not immediately clear.
