Now this is old news but many details came out only recently, besides it is too hilarious to miss. So imagine this: somebody smuggled a baby crocodile through airport security in Kinshasa, Congo, in a hand-held luggage. The reptile escapes. A stampede of terrified passengers (seriously, how big it was, if it was in a sports bag) caused the small aircraft to lose balance and tip over.
The unbalanced load caused the aircraft, on a routine flight from the capital, Kinshasa, to the regional airport at Bandundu, to go into a spin and crash into a house, just a few hundred meters from its destination. 19 passengers are dead along with a pilot. And whats up with this crocodile chopping, rescuing team? Weren't you supposed, you know, rescue?
Anyways. The plane was Czech-made Let L-410 Turbolet, one of the 1,138 produced .About 500 more of these are still flying around somewhere.
I feel really bad for the crocodile.
