12 killed in attack in Pakistan

Islamabad, Pakistan (CNN) -- Pakistani helicopters attacked militant hideouts in the nation's tribal region Saturday, killing 12 suspected militants, intelligence officials told CNN.
Two intelligence officials said the attacks targeted militant hideouts in the areas of Ghaljao and Daboori in Orakzai Agency, one of the seven districts in Pakistan's volatile tribal region bordering Afghanistan.

The officials said the operation was in reaction to Friday's roadside blast that killed six soldiers in the area.
